Geely E2 wins GCOTY Value Award 2027

• Best price-performance ratio among all 109 vehicle launches in the 2027 model year

• Almost 50 votes cast by a renowned German jury with strong international representation in a fully secret and independent ballot

• E2 was the world’s best-selling vehicle in the A/B segment in 2025*

• Long, almost constant charging power plateaus for high everyday usability 

Raunheim, 22 September 2026 – The Geely E2 has won the German Car of the Year (GCOTY) Value Award 2027. The fully electric small car achieved the best result in the “Value” category among all 109 vehicles entered as new models for the 2027 German market season. The jury has therefore recognised the E2 as the vehicle offering the best price-performance ratio across the entire field of candidates. 

Almost 50 votes were cast in the decision. The ballot was conducted fully anonymously and independently, with the voting process reviewed by media monitoring company Aitastic. The GCOTY jury is made up of renowned automotive journalists from Germany as well as international members. 

“For us, the GCOTY Value Award is much more than a product accolade. It demonstrates that our ambition to offer high-quality, technologically advanced electric mobility at an accessible price resonates in a demanding market such as Germany. The E2 has already established itself as a strong volume model worldwide. The fact that it has now also been recognised in Germany by an independent expert jury for its price-performance ratio is an important signal for Geely,” says Zack Zhang, Managing Director Geely Auto Germany and Chief Product Officer Geely Auto Europe. 

An important signal for Geely in Germany and Europe

For Geely, the award represents more than a product success. It comes at a time when the brand is significantly expanding its presence in Europe and particularly in Germany. “The Geely E2 received the best rating across all vehicle classes for the important ‘Value’ criteria, meaning price-performance ratio,” says Jens Meiners, Co-Founder and GCOTY juror. “With its entry price of €19,990, the E2 really offers an astonishing level of value.” 

The Geely E2 was already the world’s best-selling vehicle in the A/B segment in 2025. In Germany, it complements the model portfolio as a fully electric B-segment model. Measuring 4,135 millimetres in length, it combines compact exterior dimensions with a spacious interior concept: five seats, 375 litres of boot space, up to 1,320 litres with the rear seats folded, plus an additional 28 litres of underfloor storage and a 70-litre frunk. 

The E2 also sets a strong benchmark in terms of safety. Under the more stringent test protocol applicable since January 2026, the model achieved the maximum five-star rating in Euro NCAP. The safety concept includes a reinforced body structure, seven airbags and a comprehensive package of modern driver assistance systems.

The GCOTY Value Award comes at a time of strong global growth for Geely. In the first half of 2026, Geely Auto Group delivered a record-breaking first half of 2026, with total global sales reaching 1,422,958 vehicles. Of these, new energy vehicle (NEV) sales reached 277,189 units, up 585% year on year. 

The E2 plays an important role in this growth trajectory. As an internationally established volume model, it is now expected to contribute to making modern electric mobility accessible to a broader target group in Germany – with an attractive entry price, extensive equipment and technologies that have previously often been reserved for higher vehicle classes.
